As I read this book, I thought about how I've always felt most overly religious people were crazy, but this book, even though it's fiction, solidified those feelings. Most extremist think this is the right path for women and that scares the hell out of me. No choice over our own bodies, scary stuff!!!
"It's all right, Daddy. You aren't responsible for me." "If you had a daughter of your own, you'd know better than that." This part broke my heart and amazed me how it basically sums up a parents love for their child; wonderfully put.
Megan, I totally thought of you when I read that quote! How ironic.
Ok, so I was totally wrong about Cole, huh? So far, anyway. Becca is in so much trouble and I'm anxious to see how she gets out of this awful situation of hers. I hope she does!
Random note: I keep picturing Simone as Tilda Swinton, the actress. Weird?
