Part 4

Ugh, ugh, ugh, ughhhh. Ok, so was everyone else as annoyed that we never found out exactly how Grace got onto that lifeboat? I was honestly expecting some sort of conspiracy between her husband and Mr. Hardie, one she knew about the entire time that got her onto the lifeboat with him and was also secretly the reason she killed him - to quiet him. And I really wanted the details of the plot to come out at trial.

The end seemed a little bit thrown together to me. I read it late at night riding the train home so maybe my brain was tired and I missed something but suddenly the trial was over, she was innocent while Hannah and Mrs. Grant were found guilty, then she was getting married again and was done with therapy. "the end"??

I just didn't find this book to be as exciting and captivating as I had wanted it to be, even with a murder plot thrown in. Perhaps I thought the book would go to an even darker and more depraved place than it did? Not sure why exactly, but it failed to satisfy.

Sorry I'm too behind to start on February's book, Wild, but count me in for March!
