Looooving this book so far. Somehow, even though I am by no means an avid hiker, I'm not bored or feeling like I can't connect with the author. I tap easily into the emotions she feels regarding her mother's death but yet, she is not overly dramatic or pitiful. Her writing is just very honest and real.
Despite its sadness, I loved the following line from page 34: "Everything I ever imagined about myself had disappeared into the crack of her last breath."
