I still find Bernadette to be fascinating, if not totally crazy. Her craziness seems warranted and justified now that we know what happened back in LA (and she was clearly already a little crazy before everything went down with the 20 Mile House.

I like that the book introduces you to concepts that you're unfamiliar with which then get explained later. It's fun to piece together things as you learn more and more about the history of Bernadette.

I feel so bad for Bernadette. It's clear she was perhaps a little touched from the beginning of her life, or at least prior to where we see her as a young architect, but I think the incident with the big shot film producer destroying her house would push anyone over the edge.

I hate to compare a book to a TV show, but I'm currently watching Orange is the New Black, and I think this book is set up a lot like that show. You get snippets of people up front, enough to form an opinion of them, but then get thrown a lot of information about their past that really shakes up what you thought about them.

Excited to see what's next!
