I've seen rumors on Twitter that both Ian Somerhalder and Alexander Skarsgard are interested in playing the movie version of Christian. What do you guys think?

Out of the two, Ian. Alex doesn't fit at all to me.

Finished: I liked it, but I doubt I'm getting the next book. I lost interest in the love story by the end, but then again, I'm not that into love stories in the first place. I did enjoy it though, and it was, as Ana would put it, "HOT" at times.

I agree that Ian Somerhalder looks much more the part. I'm also kind of in love with Alexander Skarsgard so I really don't want to see him in a role that right now, I despise.

Anyway, when I finished the book, I actually really wanted to go get my hands on the next one. As much as I hated the writing and feel silly for supporting such a book, I am itching to see how they work things out because like I said before, I really want Christian's romantic and in-love side to dominate his control-freak side! But, now some time has passed since I finished the book and I still haven't grabbed the second book. My interest is waning...We'll see.

Finished the book as well. I too am a sucker for wanting to see how it turns out...I think I'm stealing my friends nook subscription though, don't think I need to invest in them.

I'm a crazy "True Blood" fan so I would vote Alexander Skarsgard for anything. LOL

I finished the book and I have to say I am a little disappointed about the ending. The book over all was OK, it kept me interested but the ending was lame! It didn't really leave me wanting to read more. I felt it should have been something way more dramatic to push Ana to walk out. I finished the book saying to myself "really.... that's it?!?" The book builds you up to where you want to see how far Ana will let things go so I guess I was expecting it to be something crazy and over the top to push her to run. That's just my opinion.

I felt the same... I almost have NO interest in reading the next one, I felt left high and dry as well.

So, I've been thinking a lot about this book lately and the more I remember what I read, the angrier I get that a woman wrote this. Honestly, the absurdity of what Christian does - buying her a blackberry, a laptop, a car, showing up in Georgia when she's visiting her mom, etc, etc...it is insanely ridiculous.

I think the worst part, though, is that the author tries to make Anastasia redeem herself. Anastasia lightly rolls her eyes and groans at his actions as if she is an independent woman who doesn't appreciate his ways, but she barely fights it and on top of that, still tries to do whatever she can to make him (sexually) happy.

Vom.

Ok, confession time. I'm almost finished with the second book. That being said, I utterly despise the books entirely. The repetitive nature of the author's writing is driving me CRAZY. If Anastasia's eyes roll, her stomach clenches, or she bites her lip ONE MORE TIME I might lose it. (Also, enough with the freaking emails back and forth!!) Before I started reading the first one, my mother-in-law actually warned me about how terrible the books are and she was right. Technically speaking, t's like a 5th grader wrote them. However, I just HAD to know what happened after the first book so I got the second - a move I now regret. I've come this far, so I'm going to have to finish the second book, but I won't be reading the third. What's that expression? "Fool me once"?

For those of you who are feeling cheated by the end of the first book but have no desire to read the second, I'm happy to share with you how the second one goes so you don't have to waste your time (and money)! It isn't worth it!

Erin, I don't speak for everyone here but I for one would LOVE if someone would just tell me what happens since I can't help but be curious but I also refuse to read the second and third books! I LOLed at your list of things she should not do again (but of course, we know she will do 393823 more times). It's so unfair when such untalented people (I'm looking at you E L James) suddenly become rich and "famous" for....ridiculousness.

But, such is life. Bye bye, Anastasia Steele. I hope your movie counterpart somehow does you a little more justice.
