So, we are taking awhile to read 50 Shades of Grey because the "launch" of this book club was unorganized and frazzled and also because the girls trip which inspired the reading of this book isn't happening until the first weekend of June.
Anyway, once June approaches, it will be time to really try and get this book club going and for that, we need to pick a new book! I am setting up a poll (look in the sidebar on the left) with some titles I have been dying to read and I want you to vote on what you'd like to read too. We'll vote until May 18th so people will have time to request the book from the library or get their butts to a bookstore for a purchase.
After June, I'd like to release the reigns and have everyone take turns picking the book of the month: you can launch a vote like I'm doing now (I'll help you set it up), or you can just straight up tell us what the one book is that you are dying to read and that we will read with you. If you're interested in being in charge of one of the monthly picks, let me know and I'll add your name to our calendar.
Yay!
Here is some information about the titles I've decided to vote on:

Room was a New York Times best selling and I'm actually reading it RIGHT now, and it's REALLY good, so far. But don't let that sway your votes ;-)
I vote for The Fault In Our Stars! Also, I still haven't read 50 Shades Of Gray yet. Yeah, I know that may seem shocking since it seems everybody has read this book already (book club or not)! The Kindle price of the book shot up on because of the popularity. It is cheaper for me to buy the printed version than the e-book! I'm hoping the price will go down soon or better yet that the trilogy will go on sale.
Mary - vote on the poll, please!
I voted for Between Shades of Gray, but I also have not read 50 Shades of Gray. I am hoping to start tonight!!
I'm going to start 50 Shades of Gray tomorrow, should get through it pretty fast. Due to all the hype I've been dying to read it but I'm super busy!
Another thing:
The author clearly does not know how birth control works....
@ Jhani - How do I vote on the poll?
Jhani: Couldn't agree more! She doesn't understand birth control, and with how many people read this, I hope they all know it doesn't work like that lol.
@ Jhani & Megan - That is worrisome that a popular book like this carries an incorrect message about birth control! We don't need another baby boom on our hands! What future would these children have when our country can't afford to educate them, doesn't have enough jobs to employ them, or the proper medical coverage to keep them healthy! Ok, sorry about the rant I just had on the future of the US. I really don't want to discuss social policy on this board. =) Let's hope people understand the word "fiction". (Disclosure: I haven't read 50 Shades of Gray yet but I'm borrowing the book so I will read it soon. I'll let you know what I think of it after I read it.)
