So, not through chapter 18 but just finished chapter 12 and it's the first time the book has made me laugh out loud: Grey: "Why are you still up?" Ana: "Sir, If you recall, I was going through this list when I was distracted and bedded by a passing control freak." hahaha. Hit my funny bone for some reason.

I love these moments too - when they are sarcastic and silly with each other. That's why I love most of the email exchanges that happen between them. And that's the thing that gets me about this book: I want to hate Christian because I am so turned off by his controlling nature and his sexual tendencies but when he sort of breaks down and becomes really sweet or cute or romantic, I'm like, "Yay!" (This is coming from the thirteen-year-old in me that still loves really awful romantic chick flick movies...)

Two random things that reeeeally bugged me though:

1. Whenever she talks to her parents, she says their name in every single sentence, have you noticed that? "No, Dad, I'm good." "Sure thing, Dad." "Love you, too, Dad." UGH.

2. The not-eating thing bugs me. In the beginning, it was ok - she's nervous or intimidated or whatever. But then it sort of becomes ridiculous. She seriously never eats. It ain't sexy. I'm with Christian on this one.

Also, a big fan of the email correspondence. And Jhani, the DAD mentions are so silly. No one addresses the person they're talking to every sentence. and then she refers to him as Ray when it's in her thoughts. The relationship seems a little unrealistic. If they get along so well then I'd think they'd do more then just one meal after graduation when they hadn't seen each other for months. Strange. And, I know Christian is captivating, but when he says he mentioned buying Ana a car to her father and Ray thought it was a good idea, I just don't think that would happen. If some man I said I had been dating for a few weeks wanted to buy me a car I think my Dad would want to know what the hell was going on.

All in all it's keeping me entertained though ; )

I love her 'inner goddess', cracks me up!

As funny and light as the inner goddess and the conscious are, it's definitely silly and part of that high-school-writing we've been talking about. I hope to god they don't include it in the movie version of this book!

I can see it now, some horrible studio effects of her goddess on her shoulder. YUCK!

lol. Her Inner Goddess just cracks me up. My aunt hated that part of the book, and I think it's silly and fun.
